E-Waste Policy
VKMA Innovations Pvt Ltd · Updated On: June, 2026
With electronic waste generation becoming a critical issue in India, VKMA Innovations understands that by facilitating the sale of electronics, we also share the responsibility for how those products are handled at the end of their lives. This policy details the essential steps we take to protect our environment while ensuring full adherence to India's legal framework.
1. What Is E-Waste?
In The Most Simple Terms: Any electrical or electronic device that has stopped working, become obsolete, or is no longer needed by its owner.
Reminder: Because most of these items contain materials like lead, mercury, cadmium, and brominated flame retardants, they must be handled with heightened care.
On the VKMA Innovations platform, e-waste categories include, but are not limited to:
- Smartphones, tablets, laptops, and wearables
- Chargers, cables, power banks, and all types of batteries
- Televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners
- Routers, printers, speakers, and keyboards
2. What VKMA Innovations Does
Authorised Recycling Only
By partnering exclusively with CPCB-registered recyclers, we ensure that the e-waste we collect bypasses informal, unregulated scrap dealers. This guarantees a safe, legally authorized disposal channel at every step.
Take-Back Programme
Are you buying a new appliance or phone through VKMA Innovations? You can easily schedule a free pickup of your old device right at checkout. We will coordinate the collection, hand the item over to an authorized recycling partner, and provide a disposal certificate if requested. There is no extra paperwork for you—just tick the appropriate box.
Vendor Obligations
As a core condition of listing on the VKMA Innovations platform, every vendor must agree to the following:
- Products must be accurately labeled with e-waste handling instructions where the law dictates.
- Vendors must avoid any misleading claims regarding recyclability or environmental benefits.
- Vendors must provide full, active cooperation with VKMA Innovations take-back initiatives and collection drives.
Therefore, vendors who repeatedly breach these terms will face platform delisting.
3. What You Can Do as a Customer
Practicing responsible disposal is incredibly easy. Here is how you can help:
- Never throw old electronics or hazardous materials into the regular trash, as doing so can severely pollute the local waste stream.
- Opt for our convenient "take-back" options whenever you initiate a device replacement procedure.
- Reach out to our support team to get the locations of our most environmentally friendly drop-off centers.
- Remember that performing a “Factory reset” for a full memory clean is crucial before handing over your old devices.
Please note that VKMA Innovations cannot take responsibility for any personal data left on returned products.
4. Legal Framework & Compliance
We operate securely within the following statutory and legal policies established by the Indian government:
- E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016 (amended 2018 and 2022): Serving as India's primary delegated legislation on this issue, this rule enforces "Extended Producer Responsibility" (EPR). By following this mandate, VKMA Innovations guarantees the correct restoration or responsible destruction of end-of-life products.
- Environment (Protection) Act, 1986: Guided by this essential law, VKMA Innovations works with hard-earned determination to eliminate dangers that violate the Act, helping to prevent civil liabilities in both Indian and global markets.
- Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016: Under this regulation, VKMA Innovations ensures that no hazardous wastes are collected, transported, or disposed of without strictly following the correct safety protocols.
We do not view non-compliance with these statutes as a simple procedural lapse. It is treated as a serious legal and reputational risk that our company actively and continuously works to avoid.
5. Review & Updates
We review this policy every twelve months, or even sooner if there is a significant shift in applicable laws or our operational scale. You can always find the most current version published at this policy page. If anything here is unclear or you feel we have missed a detail, please let us know using the contact information below.
